5 Tips to optimize your profile on LinkedIn
Social media is great. It’s easily accessible to connect with people. That’s the simple version of it. However, there’s a strategy when you want to stand out in the digital world. With so many platforms, which one is best for you?
LinkedIn is best known for the business and career platform. It’s your digital resume. So how do you make that first impression on LinkedIn to make you stand out?
Here are 5 tips to optimize your profile on LinkedIn
Use a current and professional profile image. A smile is the first thing they see but on LinkedIn, your future employers or business connection will look at everything. So no selfies at the beach or at a club.
Add Keywords to your profile. If you are a recruiter, then include the specific industry in your profile. For instance, if you master SQL, then describe that you’ve created complex files on SQL in your About section. The more keywords from the job description and what you do the better.
Update your Experience Section with every new noteworthy task under your current job. You’re adding the keywords and you’re letting your network know what you can do.
Customize your URL. When you create an account, the URL is generic. You have the option to include your name. I suggest you do!
Post as much as you can! However, post content relative to the industry you are in. You want to sound like you are an expert.
